Sara Errani Facts

She relocated to Valencia, Spain at the age of 16.
Sara made her debut at the $10k Cagliari event in her native Italy in 2002, losing to Sun Tiantian.
She won her first WTA title in the Internazionali Femminili di Palermo.
It was announced on August 7, 2017, that Sara had been suspended for two months due to a failed doping test in February 2017, where she tested positive for the prohibited substance “Letrozole.” However, Errani claimed that she ingested it by “accidentally consuming her mother’s anti-cancer medication Femara” which was present in a homemade tortellini.
As of February 12, 2026, Errani had a WTA ranking of 65.
