- She was brought up in the Mumbai.
- Kamya was a contestant in Bigg Boss 7 (2013). She was evicted from the show on day 91.
- While competing on Bigg Boss 7, she and late actress grew close to one another. However, their friendship came to an end after Pratyusha committed suicide in April 2016. After her death, Kamya went on to release a short film titled Hum Kucch Keh Na Sakey that was based on the life of Pratyusha.
- Kamya was sued by the former boyfriend of Pratyusha Banerjee and thereafter, her film was put on stay order by the court.
