- He was discovered as an artist during his middle school years after he emerged as the winner of an “Eoljjang Challenge”.
- Gongchan was revealed as the 3rd member of B1A4 by WM Entertainment on April 11, 2011.
- He has served as the lead dancer, vocalist, visual/face of the group, and maknae for B1A4.
- As a member of B1A4, he released his first full-length album, Ignition, on March 14, 2012, via WM Entertainment and it comprised of songs such as Just the Two of Us, This Time Is Over, You Are My Girl, Super Sonic, and Baby I’m Sorry.
