- He started recording his videos at the age of 16 to amuse his friends. He used to upload these videos with humorous commentary on YouTube.
- El Rubius first got widespread exposure when he uploaded a video on the gameplay of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which got him 60,000 hits per week. Before that, he was limited to 400 views per month.
- He didn’t realize that he could carve a career out of YouTube until he reached the age of 21.
- El Rubius has spoken strongly about online bullying on a couple of occasions and has advocated measures to clamp down on such behavior in the future.
