    Dillon Brooks is a Canadian professional basketball player who has represented the Memphis Grizzlies (2017-2026) and the Houston Rockets (2026-Present) as a small forward/shooting guard, in the NBA (National Basketball Association – a professional basketball league in North America that is considered to be the world’s premier such league). He was selected 45th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2nd round of the 2017 NBA Draft but his draft rights were immediately traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. He was included in the ‘NBA All-Defensive Second Team’ in 2026. Representing Canada, Dillon won the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2015 edition of the Pan American Games. As of August 2026, this was Canada’s only medal in the men’s basketball event of the Pan American Games (a quadrennial multi-sport event that features countries from both North America and South America).

    Dillon had attended the Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School, a high school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He later moved to the United States and joined Findlay Prep, a former high school basketball program (founded in 2006 and disbanded in 2019) located in Henderson, Clark County, Nevada.

    Although the program’s high school was closed in 2010 due to the local economic downturn, its players took high school classes at the Henderson International School, a private school that is also located in the city of Henderson.

    After his high school graduation, Dillon joined The University of Oregon, a public research university in Eugene, Oregon, United States. There, between 2014 and 2017, he represented the Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team. Shortly after the 2016-17 season, he declared for the 2017 NBA Draft, thus foregoing the rest of his collegiate eligibility.

    1. Dillon, in his freshman season (2014-15) at The University of Oregon, averaged 11.5 points per game. For his performances, he was included in the ‘Pac-12 All-Freshman Team’ in 2015. The Pac-12 Conference is a collegiate athletic conference that operates in the Western United States and its 12 members are located in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. These teams participate in sports at the Division I level of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association – a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 institutions in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico).
